Our English Lavender Farm Essential Oil is pure, sweet, layered and very pleasing. We distill only the flower spikes from our organically grown English Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia not Lavandin or Lavandula x Intermedia).
Our oil is naturally distilled here on the farm using steam in a traditional copper still which captures each tiny droplet of essential oil from the lavender plants. Our pure oil is not combined with any carrier oil or diluted with any other ingredient. In general terms, English Lavender plants give an essential oil with a sweeter overtone; Lavandins or Lavandula x-Intermedia yield a similar essential oil, however, these plants have higher levels of terpenes and therefore their oils have a slightly more camphorous aroma. The oil of Lavandins and Intermedias is generally more abundant than that of the English Lavenders, making the English Lavender essential oil higher priced (and more rare) on the market.
Lavender essential oil can be added to a bath to promote relaxation, soothe sore muscles, or treat skin issues (acne, minor cuts or burns, sunburn, etc.), or it can be dropped into a vaporizer to help coughs or respiratory issues. Lavender essential oil is one of the safest oils and can be used directly on skin as an antiseptic and pain reliever, or be applied to minor burns or insect bites and stings.
Opening a little blue bottle of our English Lavender Farm Essential Oil will instantly remind you of balmy summer days and gently relax you as you breathe in its wonderful aroma.

Here's how you might think about using your lavender essential oil:
IN YOUR BATHTUB: Our English Lavender essential oil is great for soothing tired, aching muscles, relaxation and stress relief. Just add a few drops (use your nose as a guide but perhaps 6 - 10 drops would be about right) after running the water and stir the water with your arm. You could try adding the drops to a cupful of Epsom salts and then putting that in the bath; we find this sometimes helps to disperse the oil in the water.
IN THE SHOWER: You can add a few drops of essential oil to your shampoo for a delightful lavender shower. The steam carries the scent all around you and helps you to feel relaxed and pleasantly sleepy before bed. Some people also use drops of lavender oil in the corners of the shower floor for the same lavender aroma while showering.
AS AN AIR FRESHENER: Fill the top dish of an essential oil diffuser or a vaporizer with warm water and add a few drops of lavender essential oil. Place a lighted tea light candle in the space underneath the dish. This technique is especially good when you have a cold or are feeling under the weather. Keep the burner away from draughts and open windows.
FOR MASSAGE: Using lavender essential oil with your favorite base massage oil is a particularly effective way to receive the benefits of the oil. Whether you have tight and sore muscles, are under stress, or have sustained an injury, the oil will be absorbed quickly and may provide relief and relaxation.
ON A TISSUE: This is great for immediate relief from a cold, blocked nose, or moments of sudden anxiety. Add a few drops to a tissue and inhale deeply.
FOR TIRED FEET: After a busy day on your feet or after a long flight add 6-10 drops to a bowl of warm water and Epsom Salts and soak your feet for about fifteen minutes.
