Rising at 7,055 feet along the Siskiyou Mountains in Southern Oregon stands Grayback mountain, the tallest peak in Josephine County. Its height and rocky underground capture and filter the pristine snow melt waters that flow past the pines, oaks, and cedars to create the majestic Thompson Creek. From his work bench overlooking the English Lavender Farm it’s here that inspired flytier Doug Hall to create the Lavender Trout series of custom fishing flies.

Sold exclusively at The English Lavender Farm, this fly series replicates species of aquatic life sought by hungry fish. All flies are hand tied with hints of purples and lavenders giving them their signature design and come in their own mini fly box. A native San Diegian, Doug spent his whole life on the water including a 26 year career in the U.S.Coast Guard. Doug’s love for fishing has landed him fish on both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, Hawaii, Canada, Florida, and Oregon. Starting in 2017 Doug and his family spent three years camping across the country exploring and fishing a diversity of lakes, rivers, streams and creeks. In 2017 they settled down on Thompson Creek overlooking the English Lavender Farm. Doug enjoys tying flies, wood working, gardening and helping out neighbors. He welcomes you to the Thompson Creek Fly Co. specializing in traditional and unique fly patterns, all custom, all hand tied.
